Diwali is a holiday celebrated throughout India and in Indian communities around the world as the festival of lights. It is a day to come out of darkness into the light, start anew, and express gratitude to those who have been meaningful in one’s life. Each year, the Emory Indian Cultural Exchange hosts a Diwali celebration open to the Emory community. This year, Diwali will be held at the Hilton Atlanta on November 10, 2012 at 6:30 pm. The event will include transportation to and from the venue, a full Indian dinner, performances by Emory’s best dance teams, and an open dance floor. Tickets went on sale Thursday, October 18th in the DUC and in front of Cox Hall, and sold out in a record-breaking 6 days. ICE Diwali has repeatedly won the award for Emory’s Best Cultural Event, and it is a night you do not want to miss!
