My a cappella group, the Gathering, the only all female group on campus, had our winter concert (it was Old Hollywood themed) this past Friday! Lots of people came to watch us sing pop songs, like “Before He Cheats” and “Wide Awake,” oldies like “I Want You Back” and “Proud Mary,” and alternative music, such as “How I Go” and “And How it Goes.” We had an eclectic mix of music to excite and engage all audience members, and of course threw in some dance moves (especially for “Right as Rain” by Adele). We even surprised the audience with a mash up of “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore! It was a wonderful evening and I am so thankful for everyone who came out to support us! I’ll be sure to post videos as soon as they are edited but for now, check out my group’s blog to learn more about our performances and to listen to some of our repertoire.
Our next performance is this Friday at “First Friday” – an Emory event every first Friday of the month that features all a cappella groups! All six of Emory’s a cappella groups come out to sing for an hour for the Emory community. It’s at 5:30 PM at the Duc Terraces if you would like to come and watch us sing!
